A letter writer attempted to clarify misconceptions regarding overzealously labeling children as autistic ["Take a close look at autism definition," April 3].
She attempts to define autism as a "complete withdrawal from reality." What medical guide did this writer use?
Just to clarify something: It is not educators who are misidentifying and overusing the term. If anyone is to be faulted, it's the so-called medical experts.
