Letter: Don’t bother fixing name of bridge

I read “Lost in translation” [News, June 9] about the name of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge being spelled wrong. It seems that the politicians don’t want to spend up to $4 million to correct the spelling on signs to Verrazzano.
Apparently, it’s OK to spend money when you want to rename tunnels and bridges after former politicians like Robert F. Kennedy, Ed Koch or Hugh Carey. It’s good not to spend money to correct a mistake that few knew about or, to be honest, care about. Besides, in a few years, it will be renamed the Mario and Andrew Cuomo Bridge anyway.
