Letter: Don't drive away chicken franchise

Chick-fil-A has expanded significantly since its founder, S. Truett Cathy, opened his first restaurant in Georgia in 1946. It now has 1,600 restaurants in 39 states, most of them in the South and West. Credit: Handout
Regarding the article on Chick-fil-A coming to Long Island ["Chicken food chain scouting LI for a location," Business, Feb. 27]: I have traveled over much of the South and East and have found Chick-fil-A is better than most fast food.
If the chain wants to support religion, it's commendable. We need the family values that religion brings. David Kilmnick and his Long Island GLBT Services Network do not speak for all of Long Island, and neither do I, but many I know would like Chick-fil-A.
We need to support business on Long Island, not drive it away.
