Prescription bottle and pills

Prescription bottle and pills Credit: Istock

With regard to "Consumer suits: Drugmaker coupons illegal" [Business, March 8], I am outraged. The manufacturer of one of my daily medications provides a coupon in which it pays $38 of my $50 co-payment. I have tried other branded or generic products and cannot use other medications.

I cannot help thinking that these lawsuits will only benefit insurance companies, which are doing their best to prohibit branded drugs from their formularies and increase their profits. In my opinion, insurance companies are a service industry and should not profit from human illness.
