Your story on Farmingdale State College correctly portrays a campus that is growing and thriving ["Farmingdale State at 100," News, March 11]. But one area that was neglected is the important research being done, and the opportunities that provides to science students.
Farmingdale has created a solar energy center and a Green Building Institute that conceives and designs energy-efficient buildings. The college makes valuable contributions to the region in sustainability, and its students benefit by gaining the latest related knowledge.
