Letter: Don't forget tax deductibility

A letter writer states that his wallet doesn't care if a charge by Nassau County is called a tax or a fee ["Fees or rates, it's still more expensive," Aug. 7].
Most of us deduct our local real estate taxes when we pay our federal income tax. Fees are not deductible. Therefore, your wallet may deem fees worse than taxes!
