Chickens make great pets ["Ban stays; chickens must go," News, April 5]. My family had a chicken for 10 years. Her name was Chi Chi.

When Chi Chi got bigger, my kids would go and get the eggs. Chi Chi was very smart. At night she would tap on my father's front door, and my father would let her in, and she would walk to her cage and jump in. During the day, she would see me come home from work, and she would fly to the railing on my front step. She knew I would feed her.

Eggs are getting higher in price. It was so nice to go out in the morning to get the eggs.

Before you know it, we will not be able to have cats or dogs.
