Letter: Don't use tax $$ for seaside homes

People have the right to build on these barrier islands, which are really sandbars ["Aid to elevate homes?" News, Feb. 21].
If one chooses this risky investment, should the taxpayers pick up the bill when the inevitable storm damages or destroys the homes? Next, we will have a government office outside casinos to cover gambling losses.
