Letter: Electoral College discourages voters

It seems that many eligible voters don’t vote, and I hear political analysts questioning why [“How LI voters beat the nation,” Editorial, Nov. 17].
I find myself wondering why I should vote when the Electoral College picks the president in spite of a popular vote that’s contrary. It certainly doesn’t encourage anyone to cast a ballot when our choice may be superseded.
Frankly, it must look to other countries as though democracy doesn’t work.
