What the Oct. 26 news story “Bond OKd for sports complex” does not state is that the $71 savings per year will not appear on tax bills until the 2021-22 school year.

Unfortunately, the focus of the school district seems to be more on sports than on academics. Sports is an important part of our students’ lives, but not to the extent that the taxpayers are, once again, paying for the whims of the Farmingdale school district’s administrators’ politicking within the sports community.
