I was disappointed in Cathy Young’s column “Yet another twist in 2016 election” [Opinion, July 26] about the recent email debacle at the Democratic National Committee.

She essentially regurgitated the committee’s talking points, which attempt to link Donald Trump and the Russians in a James Bond-like spy caper. Young, however, failed to point out that the initial hacks occurred before Donald Trump vowed to make America great again. Indeed, there have been numerous cyberattacks on U.S. government agencies during the Obama years, but there has been little outrage expressed until now.

Instead of focusing on the egregious behavior of the DNC establishment, which emails show was biased in favor of Hillary Clinton, Young and others in the media are helping Clinton write her very own spy novel.
