A recent letter, "Don't kill Hub development again" [May 15], totally misinterpreted the facts related to the area surrounding the Nassau Veteran's Coliseum. The mini-city that had been proposed under the Lighthouse Plan was too big for the site and would have brought local traffic to a grinding halt.

Rather than let development at the Hub stall, Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and the town board adopted a building zone for the site that will let developers know how high and how big they can build, streamlining the development process.
