While I agree with increasing the minimum wage, it’s naive to think that it will not lead to job cuts and decreases in hours worked [“Higher wage is a vote for state’s working poor,” Editorial, April 5].

I was recently in a McDonald’s in Garden City, and they were installing an ordering kiosk that will decrease the need for order-takers. When business expenses rise, store owners will figure out a way to adjust.
