Letter: Housing project wrong for Plainview

What a sham!
Speakers in favor of the proposed Country Pointe at Plainview project were residents of Westbury, Muttontown, Brookville and Farmingdale -- people who had very little interest in preserving the integrity of our suburban neighborhood ["The call to go small," News, Feb. 6].
To think that adding 890 units of housing would enhance this neighborhood is ludicrous. And adding a ShopRite -- are they kidding? What a traffic nightmare.
If Supervisor John Venditto really cares about this town, he will not be smooth-talked into making a developer richer at the cost of changing a beautiful town into a congested city.
