Although the decision has been reversed, it was deeply disappointing that the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation at one point decided to end future funding for breast cancer exams and educational outreach at Planned Parenthood health centers, after years of pressure from opponents of women's health ["In the pink," Opinion, Feb. 5].
Why would anyone pressure a foundation to end funding for breast care services and make it harder for women to get breast care? It seems that's exactly what these anti-choice organizations are advocating.
It just shows that anti-women's health groups are more interested in achieving their own ideological goals than in actually helping women get basic health care.
