Letter: Iran doesn't need nuclear power

Can someone explain to our elected officials that only an idiot would believe Iran is looking to further advance its nuclear energy capabilities ["Iran deal backed, opposed," News, Sept. 10]?
That isn't believable when the country sits on one of the biggest oil deposits in the world!
