I am pleased that the Port Authority is investing $3.6 billion to create a world-class terminal at LaGuardia Airport, since it is a valued asset.

However, it must be noted among the many airports that I use, LaGuardia -- this "Third World" airport, according to Vice President Joe Biden -- is the only one that has a personal security check on each piece of luggage that exits the terminal ["De Blasio chides VP on airport comment," News, Feb. 8].

I hope that with the renovations, this world class, not Third World, security feature remains a constant at LaGuardia. I would appreciate having my luggage checked as I'm leaving JFK as well.
