As a grandmother, I agree with columnist Froma Harrop that the drinking age should be changed back to 18 [“Trust our 18-year-olds with alcohol,” Opinion, Jan. 25].

We live in such a nanny state, and people think they are going to change behavior with laws. They raised the age to buy cigarettes in Suffolk County to 21! Our drug war isn’t working and hasn’t for all the years it has been on the books.
