The Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Long Island Rail Road have achieved the impossible ["LIRR riders face a fare hike," News, Oct. 16]. It soon may be less expensive to drive into Manhattan and pay to park than to take the LIRR-MTA for my family of four. So much for the environment. Congrats, braintrust!
