I have been a Long Island Rail Road commuter for many years, and I cannot support the workers' right to strike ["LIRR talks break down," News, Feb. 28].

Not only is the LIRR a monopoly, it is a public service agency.

I support workers' rights to collective bargaining, but not this potential LIRR strike. Who stands up for the rights of commuters? I sure hope Washington will.
