Letter: Little coverage of cyclist gathering

I was surprised that Newsday would have a picture of Billy Joel, but not mention the million-plus cyclists who rode from all over into our nation's capital for the 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride ["Looking up in awe," News, Sept. 12].

I called the newsroom to voice my opinion. You are in direct competition with the Internet.

This was a freedom ride to show Islamic extremists that bikers don't approve of their stance.
