Letter: Lock up those here illegally

The solution to border security is not a better fence, but an increased consequence ["Big Senate win for immigration revamp," News, June 28].
When people are caught living here illegally, the consequence is to deport them -- with a free trip back to their country to be with their families and friends.
Instead, I suggest we give them jail time in a special prison for immigration lawbreakers, outsourced to a Third World country to reduce management costs. Cross our border, go to jail. Get caught here illegally, go to jail.
