Letter: Long Beach hospital is on the mend

Newsday's article about superstorm Sandy and its effect on Long Beach Medical Center, and consequently on the community, highlighted the need to restore services as quickly as possible ["After Sandy: Critical condition," News, Dec. 26].
We, too, hear this from the many phone calls we receive daily. We have made considerable progress. Some services have already been restored, and others, including the reopening of the Komanoff Center for rehabilitation, will occur shortly.
We especially want to thank our federal and state elected officials who have been working to assist us in this process.
