Newsday reports on how Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano is willing to attend community meetings to answer any questions people may have about his plan ["Plan a tough sell to public," News, Feb. 7]. He says he is looking for feedback from the residents of Nassau County.

Mangano has also stated that his administration has been in contact with community groups and "will continue to be as transparent as possible" ["Precinct hearing on hold," News, Feb. 7].

However, is it transparent when meetings are not held in public forums for all sides to raise concerns about the possible diminishing of public safety and services to residents? Mangano should hold multiple public forums with representatives from the county, unions and civic groups before any vote is taken.
