Letter: Media must present all candidates

Just because news reporting is also a business does not mean you have to sacrifice presenting information that is informative but not as entertaining as Donald Trump’s braggadocio [“Questioning Clinton on spouse past,” News, Jan. 4].
A case in point is Bernie Sanders, the first senator in many years who is a socialist and who has won significant support among liberal Democrats and working families. His devotion to the well-being of ordinary, everyday American citizens is unique, and he deserves more media coverage than he is getting.
Some of the facts he presents are worthy of headlines. For example, the United States is the only major country that does not guarantee health care to all people as a right. The media don’t have to agree with his ideas, but they certainly ought to present them.
