I am writing to express my dismay and disgust at those Nassau legislators who voted to pass the Police Precinct Re-Organization Plan out of committee last week ["Police plan clears hurdle," News, Feb. 14].

Even though some said they had reservations about the plans and hoped questions could be answered before the full legislature meets, how can they still in good conscience vote for it? How do they expect to make an informed decision and have the public just trust them?

If it takes five extra minutes to respond to a crime and someone is seriously hurt, is it worth the supposed savings? And if someone tells you that it will not change the response times, they are only fooling themselves.

It is obvious that this plan is flawed and a danger to public safety.
