Letter: Nassau should keep cell tower land
The article "Village mulls buying land for cell tower" [News, Aug. 13] is a perfect example of why Nassau County under County Executive Edward Mangano is in dire financial straits.
Why would the county sell a small piece of land to the Village of Massapequa Park for $4,000 to use for a cell tower, when the county could lease the land itself to a cell carrier and collect the revenue?
Maybe the county legislature or the Nassau Interim Finance Authority should investigate this inappropriate sale.
