Letter: No stirring mandate for supervisor
Thank God the election for Oyster Bay supervisor is over, and the results are confirmed [“Venditto re-elected as Oyster Bay supervisor by 99 votes,” News, Nov. 20].
What an exhausting process, considering that only about 20 percent of the electorate bothered to vote. Think about it. John Venditto won re-election with support from barely more than 10 percent of the eligible voters.
That is an amazing sign of the times. You do have to wonder whether the re-elected officials will keep their collective heads down for a while. With such a stirring mandate, what do you think?
