Hooray for broadcaster Boomer Esiason for calling football player Colin Kaepernick’s refusal to stand during our national anthem a shameful and selfish act [“On opposite sides,” Sports, Aug. 31].
It’s extremely disrespectful to the young men and women in our military, who risk their lives to defend the flag.
