It was quite fitting for Donald Trump to speak at Bethpage’s Grumman Studios, so close to that poisonous plume of toxic underground contaminants [“Trump’s LI pitch,” News, April 7].

The toxic words and ideas spewing from his mouth probably result in more poisonous effects than the plume of radioactive elements spreading outward and downward from the former Navy and Grumman Aerospace manufacturing site.

The anger and hatred expressed by both anti- and pro-Trump groups were unsettling.
