Letter: Patrol Long Island’s Jewish cemeteries

Police have ruled out vandalism after five tombstones were overturned at a predominantly Jewish cemetery in Brooklyn this weekend.
I’m all for catching, convicting and imprisoning bomb-threat callers who have been terrorizing the public with their hoaxes [“New bomb threats,” News, Feb. 28].
I hope Nassau and Suffolk county police are doing nighttime patrols of our Jewish cemeteries. It would be smart to do this before anti-Semitic vandals topple and smash headstones, as others did in the Philadelphia area.
