Several state roads in my area are being repaved to get rid of ruts and potholes, including Route 25A from Wading River to Calverton, a section that was in decent condition.

So why isn't Route 25 in Coram and Middle Island being upgraded? Are these communities not worthy of priority? How long do the taxpayers of these two communities have to endure the torture of riding on bumps, cracks and potholes along this heavily traveled road?

It's time for our elected Brookhaven officials to stand up to the state highway department and make themselves heard.

End political self-promotion

When new Town of Hempstead elected officials take office, what will it cost to replace or update the excessive displays of taxpayer-funded self-promotion? Town Supervisor Kate Murray's name is everywhere.

Now would be the perfect time to end this ridiculous practice.
