To those who decry government controls, a good example of benevolent action can be found in the passage of recent legislation to control the distribution of prescription painkillers ["Unanimous yes for pain-pill tracking," News, June 12].
Once again, government regulations were necessary to protect the public from the malfeasance of a few individuals.
