My wife Gayle and I applaud your article about adult women becoming Bat Mitzvahs ["Coming of age," LI Life, April 22]. Our synagogue, Temple Beth-El of Bellmore, has a rich and a beautiful tradition of adult bat mitzvahs, which our members are very proud of.

Judaism teaches that education and personal growth should continue throughout our lives.
