In most previous election years, by the time the New York primary rolled around, the nominees were essentially already chosen [“Trump, Clinton hold big leads,” News, April 13]. This year is different, as there are active races in both major parties.

I am a registered Democrat dating back to my anti-Richard Nixon days, but sadly I cannot vote for either Democratic candidate. One is a former U.S. senator from New York who could be arrested any day for improper emails. The other is a U.S. senator from Vermont who preaches socialist philosophies.

The only way I can have a meaningful vote is to write in former New York City Michael Bloomberg. I had hoped he would run as a third-party candidate.
