Letter: Really? Borrowing for athletic field lights?

With the county facing exorbitant debt, how can the Nassau legislature justify a frivolous expense like lights for a middle school’s athletic fields [“Nassau Democrats back $500G in borrowing,” News, Oct. 6]?
Where is the Nassau Interim Finance Authority? Our representatives show so little fiscal responsibility. Projects like these should be voted on by the taxpayers at election time.
