Regarding the "New oil boom" [Business, June 16], Newsday should not be extolling the virtues of fracking without mentioning its downside -- for example, permanently polluting our groundwater.

Just ask the people in Pennsylvania and elsewhere who can ignite the water coming from their faucets like a Bunsen burner.
