I contacted Town of Hempstead and Nassau County officials about the horrendous disrepair of many of the streets and roads, especially Hempstead Turnpike and Hicksville Road. I was informed that these roads are the responsibility of the state.

Shouldn't our elected officials pressure the state to undertake improvements? The county should invite Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo for a firsthand view of the deplorable conditions we residents face every day.
