If Romney loses in a very close race, historians no doubt will postulate that he lost because of his failure to release his tax returns. Is Romney letting down his supporters, and, more important, the nation, by not releasing his returns?

Forget percentages! How much does Romney pay in dollars, not percentage points, to meet his federal tax obligations as a citizen?

I believe Ann Romney fears that releasing more of their joint returns would just provide Democrats with political ammunition. I think that she is right.
