I read about Long Island school leaders “fretting” about what is projected to be another lean year for the state tax cap [“Don’t loosen the tax cap,” Editorial, Oct. 3]. When school leaders fret, politicians worry, too.

This is almost too absurd to believe. An average of $26,000 isn’t enough to educate each Long Island student? How about cutting back?
