We senior citizens are stranded ["Weather in the new year," News, Jan. 9].

Unable to dig ourselves out from the snow, such as we received Jan. 2, we were forced to pay someone to dig us out or rely on the goodwill of our younger neighbors.

After this was finally done, along came the plow, and we could not get out of our driveway. Again, we were forced to rely on others, as we are no longer able to dig ourselves out.

The snow is always left on our side of the street when the plow comes through. We need help.

If we had a medical emergency, we would be in dire straits.
