The Associated Press reported that after the start of the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails, her staff members smashed BlackBerry smartphones with a hammer and used special software to hamper recovery of data from her server [“FBI releases notes on Clinton use of email server,” News, Sept. 3]. The story reported that Clinton claimed she didn’t know that the “c” marginal notation stood for confidential.

Newsday didn’t run the full AP story. The version was shortened by Newsday’s editors, stripping these difficult facts from the story. So if you’re a Newsday reader, you missed many FBI revelations.
