Letter: Silver, Lopez should resign
Regarding Assemb. Vito Lopez (D-Brooklyn) and the accusations of sexual harassment ["Still standing," News, Sept. 17], here we have the most powerful man in Albany, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D-Manhattan), authorizing a payment of $103,000 of taxpayers' money to try to settle this accusation, and he gets a pass by apologizing for a mistake in judgment? His leadership on this issue is definitely a mistake.
Do the few women legislators in Albany really want to continue this old boys' network way of doing things?
It is time for the resignation of both culprits.
