Letter: Skeletal, grim-faced fashion models

A few years ago, there was an outcry against the fashion industry for using models who were like walking skeletons. It was said that girls developed very poor body images because of it.
Now, with your fashion week pages, it looks to me like the models have gotten even thinner [“Red’s hot,” exploreLI, Feb. 20].
I guess they are told not to smile, but really, what have they to smile about? They look like they are starving; who could be happy about that?
