So the political allies who ran the Nassau Regional Off-Track Betting Corp. into the ground may get a chance to do it again at Belmont Park [“The community and the casino,” Editorial, Jan. 11].

They could not manage a business, and they are getting a do-over. Does anyone really believe returns from this new fiasco-to-be will go to needy people of Nassau? Or will the money go to preserve jobs and pensions?
