My wife and I moved to Long Island two years ago, and we use public transportation.

My complaint is directed at the people responsible for removing the mounds of snow pushed in front of every bus stop [“Miserable Monday commute,” News, Jan. 26].

We’ve seen handicapped people, elderly people and parents with children waiting in the street to board the bus. This is a fatality waiting to happen.

The Suffolk County Transit S1 route is especially poorly cleared of snow. Can Suffolk County and New York State do a better job to keep commuters safe?
