Regarding “A Catholic squall in Clinton camp” [Opinion, Oct. 18], to those of us who prize our faith as the single most important thing in our lives, the insidious erosion and secularization of the faith is anathema.

For liberals and secularists to characterize this faith as a “middle ages dictatorship,” while supporting a movement they call a “Catholic Spring,” is disingenuous at best and evil at worst. It is contrary to Catholic moral teaching. One chooses to be a Catholic guided by Catholic teaching moment to moment, day by day. Those who do not understand this don’t understand what it means to be Catholic.
