Letter: Tax trans fats, don't ban them

Government control over trans fats now ["We won't miss the trans fats," Editorial, June 21]?
Why don't they ban tobacco and liquor, two major health risks? Oh, I forgot, the government is collecting taxes on those products.
May I suggest taxing trans fats, so that at least once a year, when I make my Thanksgiving pies, the crust will be flaky?
