In response to "More students pass tests" [News, July 18], there were a new test developer, poorly constructed questions and young children forced to sit for up to nine hours of testing over three days. The scoring was arbitrary.

If "Seinfeld" was a show "about nothing," then the latest round of assessment results published by the New York State Education Department consists of numbers about nothing.
