Letter: Too many probes waste money

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office has issued subpoenas to both Nassau and Suffolk counties to see where millions of taxpayer dollars slated for superstorm Sandy repairs were spent ["After Sandy: Subpoenas in Nassau," News, May 15]. District attorneys in both counties are investigating as well.

Does the attorney general's staff believe it will find something the district attorneys' offices can't? This to me seems like a waste of taxpayer money. Why duplicate an investigation?
